This Is How We Roll

Sprint Waste Services was honored to be the title sponsor of this year’s Fort Bend Regional Council Corporate Challenge bowling tournament Oct. 12 at Bowlero in Stafford, Texas.

The 15th annual tournament drew 104 bowlers consisting of corporate teams and eight student teams from Fort Bend County schools in support of the organization’s fall fundraiser, allowing FBRC to continue its mission of keeping families safe and healthy by providing substance abuse awareness, treatment and prevention programs.

Stepping up as underwriters with Sprint Waste were Silver Sponsors Haynes & Boone LLP, Summus Industries, Fluor Corp., and Seyfarth Shaw LLP, and Bronze Sponsor Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital.

Congratulations to the team from Fluor Corp. for capturing the championship and retaining the “traveling trophy” until next year. Second-place honors went to the Houston Methodist Sugar Land team, with one of four teams fielded by Summus Industries taking third.

The Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse has been making a difference in our community since 1976. FBRC comprehensively addresses substance abuse through youth prevention and leadership development programs, treatment for individuals and families struggling with addiction, and outreach programs to help families and communities stay safe and drug free.

Organizers said the bowling tournament raised much-needed funds that will support FBRC’s youth and community programs, including the Summer Explosion youth camp, Red Ribbon Week prevention activities, and other efforts that foster a drug-free community.

Reagan Swinbank, co-owner and partner at Sprint Waste, said the decision to support the organization is an easy one for Sprint Waste. “We are so fortunate in Fort Bend County to have the FBRC working at every level to address a problem that affects all of us in one way or another,” Swinbank said. “We’re happy to step up to support the FBRC’s work and look forward to continuing this successful sponsorship.”
