The Fort Bend County Fair Is On

It's fall and that means it’s time for the fair, y’all! The 83rd Annual Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo is on and runs through Oct. 6 at the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds in Rosenberg.

Sprint Waste Services is proud to be a long-time supporter of this fun-filled, family event. Dating back to 1933, today the Fort Bend County Fair is one of the largest and most successful county fairs in Texas. With a mission to benefit youth, promote agriculture and support education, the fair has awarded millions of dollars in scholarships to deserving youth in Fort Bend County.

Our support of the fair began in 2001, first as a buyer at the annual Junior Livestock Auction and later expanding to corporate support. Each year 4-H and Future Farmers of America (FFA) students in Fort Bend County raise livestock in hopes of securing a place in the auction and earning valuable scholarship money. This year the top livestock projects will be auctioned off at 7 p.m. Oct. 3. at the George Barn.

In addition to our support of the auction, Sprint Waste is a Lariat Sponsor of the fair this year. And, once again fair goers will see Sprint Waste trash containers at the venue with Sprint Waste donating waste products and trash hauling services to keep the Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo clean and operating successfully.

“We’re thrilled to continue our support of the Fort Bend County Fair & Rodeo, and we look forward to another great event that brings our community together,” said Will Swinbank, Sprint Waste Services partner. “Come out and join us to celebrate the commitment and hard work of the many ag students and parents, teachers and volunteers, competitors, staff, exhibitors, and many more who work tirelessly all year to make our fair a top-notch attraction each year.”

In a letter thanking fair supporters and staff, Fort Bend County Fair President Marjorie H. Pollard said the fair offers something for everyone, and every age. “Where else can a community come together and experience the excitement a Fair brings with activities that include a livestock show and rodeo, musical entertainment, carnival, specialty acts and children activities, cookoff, auctions, great food and much more, all in one place?” Pollard said. “The success of the Fort Bend County Fair would not be possible if not for the spirit and dedication of the Fair Staff and my fellow Directors, the countless hours put in by a large number of volunteers, the commitment from our sponsors and donors, support of our auction buyers, and all in the community who in some way or another back our cause.”
