Kids & Cops Accepting Applications for Summer Camps

There’s still time to register for a summer program Sprint Waste Services is thrilled to sponsor in conjunction with the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office: the Fort Bend County Kids & Cops Summer Camp. This popular summer camp program is open to children ages 10-12 in the Fort Bend, Needville and Lamar Consolidated independent school districts. Camps are Monday through Thursday and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Underwriters like Sprint Waste help to keep the camp costs low for participants. The cost is only $80 and includes lunch, drinks and snacks each day, a camp t-shirt, a team bracelet, souvenir cup, the cost of field trips and other camp activities. This summer’s campers will enjoy a day of fun at Main Event and a trip to Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Katy, according to organizers.

Fort Bend County Kids & Cops Inc. is a nonprofit organization of Fort Bend County Sheriff’s deputies who come together to reach school-age children with a positive message about life, growing up and the real world. Deputies help kids learn gang and drug prevention, as well as all kinds of safety and prevention such as stranger danger, gun safety and bicycle safety. The camps emphasize leadership skills, boost self-esteem and advocate teamwork among the children, all within a framework that promotes trust, respect and bonding between the children and law enforcement.
