Sprint Waste Among Finalists for HBR Safety Excellence Award

Sprint Waste Services has been selected as a finalist for the 30th Annual Safety Excellence Awards for its work at ExxonMobil Baytown. One of four finalists in the Technical Support Large category, Sprint Waste now moves forward to the field audit stage to determine the winners.

“We are honored to work so closely with the outstanding team at ExxonMobil Baytown and are grateful for this nomination to recognize our continuing hard work and laser focus on safety,” said Sprint Waste Service President and CEO Dave Nelson. “We salute the entire team at the ExxonMobil location—and all of this year’s nominees—for constantly striving to raise the bar on safety excellence.”

With more than 7,000 employees, the ExxonMobil Baytown complex is the largest petrochemical complex in the United States, accounting for up to 584,000 barrels of crude oil per day and a full range of petroleum products including lube oils, waxes, hydrocarbon fluids and specialty products. Sprint Waste Services began work at the Baytown location in 2006 and today provides an on-site team of 26 personnel to execute a full range of waste services including inventory control, sampling and shipping of all waste streams.

The Houston Business Roundtable annual safety award program began in 1988 to recognize greater Houston-area industrial contractors for outstanding safety performance and over the years has sought greater cooperation between owner companies and contractors along the Gulf Coast to improve on-site safety, eliminate accidents and reduce employee injuries.
